New Breed of Interns

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

We hear this question all the time: “How can we get the younger generation involved?”

“For the most part, we welcome for school internships”, said Ederlindo Cojuangco II, Sales and Marketing Head Global Interactive Solutions, Inc.

A lot of interns are obliged to work onsite, need flexible hours, and want to play a role in defining their jobs. They also want to feel a sense of responsibility for the organization’s overall mission.

For students, having only a framed diploma is different. Most companies look for real world experience when hiring and the best way to get that experience is through an internship. Global Interactive Solutions, Inc. offers all kinds of opportunities for interns to get hands-on experience and learn the right technology.

Let’s take a peek of these three young interns from Leyte Normal University (Tacloban City):

“My experience as an intern at GIS has proven to provide me with incredible opportunities. It was an excellent opportunity to see real professionals at work. Thanks to GIS employees, IT & MIS faculty, family and friends for without their support we won’t make it.”

Corazon Raquepo
Graphic and Creative Artist / Flash Designer

“It was a great experience working as an intern in GIS. We don’t only get the chance to expose ourselves in a real-time job scenario, but we also get to enhance our major skills with the help and guidance of our senior staffs.”

Jane B. Corbilla
Programmer & Flash Designer

“I found these intern experiences with a quick learning and adaptability that is surely needed for the near future, I thank all the GIS staffs for all the support and knowledge they gave, namely: Hans Elliott Montejo, Noel Umpad and Ivan Maglasang II.”

Heherson C. Custodio
Programmer & Technology Researcher

Moving into our new office

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Global Interactive Solutions, Inc (GIS) moved in the new office on December 8, 2008 in Sikatuna Street, Cebu City (Philippines) after months of preparation. By the time we have projects coming in; we knew that we had to move. Besides, the new office is perfect for startups.

It bears repeating that our goal is coming up with the best possible place for our designers and programmers to work. Finding a low cost of lease of office space is unusual but we were lucky enough to find one. After a tedious search, we signed a lease of agreement with the building owner. Perfect! That means we found the right space and then do our own interior arrangement.
